Employment with the San Andreas State Police (SASP) is considered at-will. This means that both the employee and the department have the right to terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without prior notice. This policy applies throughout the duration of employment, including the probationary period. At-will employment ensures that the department can make personnel decisions in the best interest of its mission and values, while also providing employees the flexibility to make decisions regarding their career path. While we strive to build a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship with all members of the SASP, this policy allows for the adaptability necessary to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and performance in law enforcement.
