This is to serve as a guideline of the duties and responsibilities set forth to guide those in the position of leadership within the Chain of Command of the San Andreas State Police. While all positions within the CoC are capable of handling any duty, these duties shall act as a forefront of the primary responsibilities each position is required to conduct. The leadership structure allows for the efficient operation of the San Andreas State Police. The Chain of Command flows from the lowest rank (Corporal), upwards to the highest rank (Superintendent of Police).
Each rank within the Chain of Command shall be responsible for certain jobs within the department. In addition to rank-specific jobs or tasks, members of the Chain of Command will also complete assignments as directed by the Superintendent or their designees. The specific duties are as follows:
The High Command is a team in charge of the entire department as a whole and makes any final decisions that is offered. Furthermore, High Command oversees each bureau and its counterparts.
Responsible for overseeing and approving all proposed rules and regulations by each bureau
Liaison between the Department of Justice and other Law Enforcement Agencies
Expected to attend all Executive, Command and Supervisor meetings
Responsible for assisting the Chief of Police in overseeing and approving all proposed rules and regulations by each bureau
Liaison between the Department of Justice and other Law Enforcement Agencies
Expected to attend all Executive, Command and Supervisor meetings
Responsible for assisting each Commander in overseeing the Command scheme and staffing levels
Oversees the Internal Affairs Division, apart of the Professional Standards Bureau
Each Commander oversees their specific bureau and works with High Command to ensure similarities within the department as a whole.
Proposes new protocols and policies in regards to their bureau to High Command.
Responsible for overseeing the Command scheme and staffing levels within their bureau
Liaison between the Department of Justice and other Law Enforcement Agencies
Expected to attend all Executive, Command and Supervisor meetings
May issue a verbal warning, fine up to $13,500, indefinite suspension or discharge to any officers within their bureau.
Commanders can hold one Commander position.
Commander positions are available at a first come, first serve basis. Any promotion must be approved by High Command for the desired position.
The following are possible Commander positions, one per position:
General Operations Bureau Commander
Investigations Bureau Commander
Special Operations Bureau Commander
Professional Standards Bureau Commander
Personal and Training Bureau Commander
The Command Team Members will work together in overseeing, supervising and managing their specific divisions or precincts within the Los Santos Police Department. Creating long-term growth through protocols designed by the Command Team, approved by High Command.
Each Captain oversees and manages a single division or precinct with the assistance of High Command and their Lieutenant.
Ensure their assigned divisions are up to standard and functioning properly.
Ensure that their goals, set by High Command, are being met.
Suggest course of actions to High Command.
Ensure cooperation between Lieutenants and Sergeants.
Coordinate with Sergeants and Lieutenants on disciplinary actions.
Handle Discipline of officers in their specific division or precinct.
May issue a verbal warning, fine up to $7,500, up to 1 week suspension, or discharge to officers in their specific division or precinct.
Responsible for evaluating any Use of Force incidents and making the decision on what level of force shall be used.
Gives approval of Officers Promotions or Demotions, suggested by Lieutenants and Sergeants.
Due to current Staffing, Captains can hold up to two (2) other Captain positions of their choice.
Captain positions are available at a first come, first serve basis. Any promotion must be approved by High Command for the desired position.
Assists Captains in overseeing and manging their assigned division or precinct as designated by the Captain
Ensure their assigned divisions are up to standard and functioning properly.
Ensure that their goals, set by Captains and High Command, are being met.
Responsible for overseeing the Supervisor scheme and staffing levels within their bureau
Point of Contact for all assigned Sergeants
Suggest course of actions to Captains.
Coordinate with Sergeants and Captains on disciplinary actions.
Handle Discipline of officers in their specific division or precinct.
Responsible for evaluating any Use of Force incidents and making the decision on what level of force shall be used.
May issue a verbal warning, fine up to $3,000, up to 5 day suspension, or discharge to officers in their specific division or precinct.
Due to current Staffing, Lieutenant's can hold up to two (2) other Lieutenant positions of their choice.
Lieutenant positions are available at a first come, first serve basis. Any promotion must be approved by High Command for the desired position.
The Supervisor Team is assigned a small group of officers to overlook as well as assist Command Staff with various duties.
Lead a Squad of officers. Oversee and manage assigned officers
Ensure their assigned squads are up to standard and functioning properly.
Ensure the goals and objectives, set by Command are being met.
Coordinate with other Supervisors and Command Team for promotions, demotions, and discipline.
Responsible for evaluating any Use of Force incidents and making the decision on what level of force shall be used.
May issue a verbal warning, fine up to $5,000, up to 5 day suspension.
Assist Sergeants in overseeing and managing assigned officers.
Ensure their assigned squads are up to standard and functioning properly.
Ensure the goals and objectives, set by Command are being met.
Responsible for evaluating any Use of Force incidents and making the decision on what level of force shall be used.
Coordinate with other Supervisors and Command Team for promotions, demotions, and discipline.
